John Robert Wearly

John Robert Wearly, age 78, husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend passed away April 10, 2025 at his farmhouse in Daleville. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Sarah Wearly. He is survived by his wife, Christine Wearly.
We celebrate a simple man, John had a quiet presence that his family and friends so appreciated. He was an avid vegetable gardener, his garden was his pride and joy. John was a well known mechanic and he was always sharing his knowledge and skills to fix just about anything, this was how he showed his love by working with his hands and helping family and friends. John was a member of the Indiana Outboard Association and raced hydroplane boats for many years, his nickname was "Mr. Fast" back in the day. He never met a stranger at the races, great friends and memories brought him tremendous joy. He also loved being a grandpa, spending time with his childhood friend Joe and his coffee buddies, fishing at Topsail Beach, riding bikes with his friend Marvin and riding around the farm on his John Deere Gator.
John is also survived by his daughter Mindy McKee (Tom) and children Sean, Michael and Erin. His daughter, Molly O'Halloran (Jim) and children Jimmy, Megan and Tommy. His son, Jonathan Wearly (Michelle) and children Christian and Evan. Family friend Bobby Webb (Nicole) and children Isaac and Ashton. Sisters Carol Wilhems (Jerry) and Ann Wood (Roby). Brother in law Phil Huffman (Donna), sister in law Gloria Huffman (Jim Huffman, deceased), brother in law Paul Huffman and sister in law Nan Huffman.
Celebration of life will be on April 19, 2025, calling will be from 11:00- 2:00 at Glancy's Funeral Home in Warren. Graveside service to follow at Thompson Home Cemetery in rural Warren with Pastor Roby Wood officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for a meal at the Dogwood Glen Clubhouse, 753 East 900 South, Warren following the graveside service.
