A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton with visitation one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow the service. Burial will be with immediate family at a later date.
John was born to Eugene and Lydia (Krasen) Welch on April 24, 1929, in Minneapolis. John enjoyed watching and playing basketball. He was inducted into the MAAD Basketball Hall of Fame for the deaf. He enjoyed working on cars and his 1983 GMC conversion van with the big mosquito on the back. John also loved his TV.
John is survived by his wife, Phyllis; sons, Don (Deb) Welch and Lester (Holly) Welch; daughter, Sue (Rod) Palmquist; ten grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Rudy Welch; and his great-grandson, Logan Welch.
