John West Obituary
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Big Creek Cemetery in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. Ike Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 Thursday morning at Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. West was born April 6, 1951, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Herman Bruce & Eva Nell Crawley West. He was a 1969 graduate of Irwin County High School. He worked for Shaw Industries and Modern Fibers as well as KMC Manufacturing. He retired from Delphi Automotive Systems as a supervisor. Mr. West enjoyed fishing and farming and was an accomplished welder. He was a lifetime member of Big Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children and their spouses: Amy West Cone & Randy of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, David & Sierra West of Brantley County, Lena West Smith & Justin of Heard County, and Dorsey & McKenzie West of Savannah; grandchildren: Chris Bryant, Randi & Nick Cone, Brian Walls, Makaila Walls, Braxton Smith, Zoie West, Hunter West, Hank West, Shephard West, and Stella West; a great-grandson, J.T. Cone; and a brother, Bruce & Brenda West of Kathleen. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jane West Hampton.
Paulk Funeral Home, Fitzgerald, is in charge of arrangements.
