John C. Wick, 68, of Kalamazoo, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born on April 22, 1957, in Lansing, as the firstborn son of Ronald and Joyce (Harger) Wick. After the passing of his parents, John was lovingly cared for by his devoted sister, Anne, her fiancé, Ron, and John's niece, Madeline. Their home provided comfort, laughter, and deep affection, allowing John to thrive in a supportive environment. While some may view caring for a loved one with special needs as a burden, Anne, Ron, and Madeline cherished him as a true blessing in their lives.
John had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious joy in engaging with the world around him. He found happiness in simple pleasures, such as watching videos of roller skating and virtual train rides, following Trucker Steve on YouTube, and enjoying peaceful moments watching the birds outside. Each summer, he looked forward to vacationing at his family's childhood cottage on Otsego Lake, and he loved searching for vintage video games to add to his collection. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his family.
John is survived by his siblings: Anne (Ron), Mary, Paul (Rachel), Michael (Pam), and Kristie, as well as his niece, Madeline, and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Matthew. At a later date, John will be cremated and laid to rest alongside his parents at St. Joseph Cemetery in Lansing.
