John Willey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dial-Murray Funeral Home - Moncks Corner on Mar. 5, 2026.
John Marshal Willey, known affectionately to his friends and family as "Billy Bob" and "Uncle Bubby," passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, at his residence in Saint Stephen, South Carolina.

Born in Manchester, Connecticut, on June 29, 1957, he lived a life defined by hard work and a generous heart. John was a dedicated worker who spent many years driving truck for Lee's Nursery and working in the trade of construction with H&W Construction. While he took pride in a job
well done, his true legacy lies in his character. He was the type of man who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.

His love for his family was boundless, and he was often the favorite among the children for his mischievous side; he was known for sneaking
the kids treats and things they weren't supposed to have when they were younger. Simple pleasures brought John the most joy. He loved socializing with his loved ones while drinking coffee, and in his quiet moments, he could be found watching old westerns or true
crime shows.

John is survived by his sisters, Donnette Christiansen and Ruth Prevatt, and her husband Robert. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces, Kristina Zorn, and her husband Eric and Jenny Ives and her husband Tommy and a nephew, Scotty Moody and his wife
Robbin. As well as the many great-nieces, and great-nephews, as well as great friends and great neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Willey and Carol Meaketa.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date by the family. "Though "Billy-Bob's" chair may be empty, his kindness and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him".
