Misty R. Whitten (49) of Saint Stephen SC entered into eternal rest on March 1st 2026 at 8:08 am, after a 16 month long battle with Lung Cancer, (metastasis Brain) at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston SC. She was born in Anniston, Alabama to the late Raymond Whitten & (Lee) and Kathy M. Brooks (Whitten) (Hawkins) & (Toby) but resided in South Carolina for most of her life. She had a passion for drawing/coloring since she was a young child. Misty was preceded in death by her husband Thomas E. Soboski. Both of her parents Raymond Whitten and Kathy M. Brooks (Whitten) (Hawkins). Her paternal grandparents James D. Whitten (JD) and Sarah Whitten (Sadie). Her maternal grandparents William Brooks and Lottie L. Hearn (Brooks) & (Hoyt). Her brother Damon Whitten, her step-daughter Taylor G. Osbourne (Cain), her cousin Jonathan Brooks and long time partner Quinton Tyrone Osburne, (father of Jaxon). Misty is survived by her children Tyler L. Whitten (Hannah) of Saint Stephen SC, Thomas J. Dukes (Joey) of Goose Creek SC, Rodney A. Soboski (Cierra) of Ladson SC, Kalee M. Whitten of Saint Stephen SC, Jaxon W. Osburne of Moncks Corner SC and a granddaughter Paisleigh L. Soboski. She is also survived by her siblings Kristy R. Whitten (Hill) & Charles C. Hill (Chris) of Moncks Corner SC & Beth Fry and children of Florida. Nephew- Nathan A. Whitten (Michelle), great nephews and niece, Hunter D. Griffin, Cooper D. Griffin and Raelynn P. Whitten of Cross SC, Nephew-Noah A. StClair of Florida, Niece-Kayla J. Whitten (Botelho), (Dillon). Great nephew and niece Brendon D. Botelho, Emberly M. Botelho and baby Nelson due 2026 of Moncks Corner SC. Niece-Sierra C. Whitten (Chianne), (Xavier). Great nieces Emma R. Whitten & Rylee M. Gattis also of Moncks Corner SC. Uncles-Larry D. Brooks (Elizabeth) of Bynum AL, Gene Brooks & Timothy Brooks (Debra) and children of AL, Aunt-Deborah Raughton (Frank) of AL. Cousins- Shannon Brooks (Julie) and children of AL, Amy Quackenbush (Shawn) and children of AL, Matthew Raughton (Shana) and children of AL and many other family and friends! Services will be private with Cremation to follow by Simplicity LowCountry Cremation & Funeral Services in Ladson, South Carolina.
