John F. (Frank) Williams went to be with the Lord on January 29, 2025. Frank was born to Dr. Kenneth R. Williams and Selma (Reynolds) Williams of Monticello, FL and Ocala, FL on November 12, 1945, while living in Athens, Georgia.
Throughout Frank's upbringing, his father was the founding President of three institutions of higher learning in the State of Florida, which led their family to move multiple times (College of Central Florida, Miami-Dade College, Florida Atlantic University). Frank attended elementary schools in Atlanta, GA; New Delhi, India; Ocala, FL and Miami Shores, FL. He attended high school at both Miami Edison High School and Delray Beach Seacrest High School, which he graduated from in 1964.
After graduating from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in secondary education and joining Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, Frank taught 36 years at Boca Raton High School. There he coached bowling and golf for many years. After his first marriage, he met and fell in love with his wife, Elaine Hopkins Hooker of "41" years. They lovingly enjoyed supporting their children, along with many wonderful vacations once the kids "flew the nest."
Towards the end of his teaching career, Frank served as a two-term treasurer of his local union (FTP-NEA) and followed as two-term president of his 2,000 member Palm Beach local.
Frank and Elaine became integral members of the Hernando United Methodist Church after they relocated to Hernando, Florida, in 2004. They greatly enjoyed serving God and the community with many church friends and neighbors over the last two decades.
He is preceded in joining the Lord by his wife, Elaine; sister, Harriet McIntyre; father, Dr. Kenneth R. Williams; and mother, Selma (Reynolds) Williams. He is survived by his son, John Justin Williams and his stepchildren, Sherri Elaine Tardonia (Tom), John Walter Hooker III (Jennifer), and their 4 grandchildren, Savannah Tardonia, Lily Tardonia, Anna Hooker, and John Hooker IV.
A Memorial Service will be held at the United Methodist Church of Hernando, FL, on February 21, 2025, at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Residing Hope Florida in his name.

Jim and I were at Frank & Elaine´s wedding in 1981.
My memories include cook-outs, eating ribs at Bobby Rubino´s, canoeing, playing Skip-Bo, seeing their new home in Hernando where Frank always welcomed us with plates of select snacks and a cold drink.
He was a very caring man who loved Elaine and took good care of her as her health declined.
So sad to see him gone now. I´ll always miss him and especially, my dear friend Elaine.
