John William Wilson, 88, Macy, Indiana, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Peabody Retirement Home, North Manchester.
Born May 29, 1936, in Lewisburg, Indiana, he was the son of William Madison and Sara Berniece (Taggart) Wilson. On June 9, 1957, at the Denver Baptist Church, he was married to Gloria Kay Miller, and she preceded him in death on August 16, 2023.
He was a graduate of Eastern High School in Greentown, Indiana, and was a member of the church at Niconza until its closing. He attended the Rochester Church of God. He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed many fishing trips over the years.
Survivors include his two children, Bradley S. (Donna) Wilson, Macy; and Felicia K. (Roger) Mikel, Waco, TX; six grandchildren, Alyssa Dias, Florida; Tyler (Bryn) Mikel, Philadelphia; Trevor Mikel, Waco; Grace Wilson, Macy; and Olivia Wilson, Macy; Kristy (Mark) Curtis, Osceola; and Amanda (Andy) Bowers, Walkerton; ten great-grandchildren, Teddy Mikel, Quinn Mikel, Ben Mikel, Liam Dias, Ryley Sears, Alexa Wilson, Phoenix Green, Steven Curtis, Brantley Bowers, and Savanna Curtis; great-great grandson, Kain Stewart; and one sister and brother-in-law, Donna (Joe) Graham, Denver.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and one sister, Janice Bennett. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2024, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, with Pastor Larry Pyatt officiating. Private burial will be at Chili Community Cemetery, Chili, Indiana. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2024. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rochester Church of God.
