John William "Concrete John" Winters, Sr, passed away on October 17, 2024. He was the proud and dedicated owner of JW Winters Co., Inc. since 1964, where he loved to work. John was an avid billiards player and traveled on many trips with some of the greatest and best players. He liked being outdoors, time with family and friends at the family pool, going to the drag strip and taking his family camping and boating. He had a great sense of humor, telling jokes, riddles and always had a funny story for the grandchildren. John enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved listening to country, gospel and bluegrass music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Dora Winters and 5 of his siblings.
John leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 64 years, Judy Winters; children, Tonya Raffaeli, John (Karen) Winters, Jr, Dina (Ernie) Coomes, Missy Mattingly, Peri Winters, Kenny (Monica) Winters and Amy Winters; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 siblings and bonus son, Jerry "Chip" Coomer
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 4pm-8pm. A celebration of John's life will be Wednesday, October 30, 2024, beginning at 11am at the funeral home.
John will be laid to rest at Bethany Cemetery, 10917 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY.
