James Robinson Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Earl Robinson, aged 81, of Morgan, Kentucky, who departed this world on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

James was a remarkable man, known for his unwavering devotion as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His zest for life was evident in his fondness for fishing, the thrill of gambling, and the cherished moments spent with family and friends. As a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he embodied strength, honor, and resilience. Those fortunate enough to know him will remember his vibrant personality, his remarkable ability to dispense wise counsel, and his generous spirit that brightened the lives of many. James leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Born on May 5, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky, James was the beloved son of Dorothy Wiley. He is preceded in death by his cherished mother, Dorothy, father, George Gilbert Robinson and his brothers: Wiley, George, Ricky, Ross, and Ernest.

James is survived by his devoted wife of 28 years, Lorraine Robinson, and his sons, James Robinson, Jr. and Devin Robinson. He takes with him the love of seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, as well as his dear sister, Roberta Trabue, alongside a multitude of nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11:30 a.m., culminating in a burial at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky.
