Carol "Jeanie" Lyons, 69, of Louisville, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Jeanie was a beacon of love and light in the lives of all who knew her. She was a devoted mother, cherished mamaw, beloved gigi, sister, and friend whose warmth and spirit touched many.
Jeanie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether gardening, crafting, or spending cherished moments with her loyal dog, Gunner, she embraced every opportunity to create and nurture. A devoted Christian, Jeanie dedicated herself to studying and sharing the word of God, embodying kindness and compassion as the neighborhood "Grandma." Her nurturing spirit welcomed everyone, building a sense of community and connection around her.
Born on January 5, 1957, to Harold and Norma (Riggs) Lyons in Louisville, Kentucky, Jeanie now joins her dear mother, Norma "Jean" Lyons, father, Harold Curtis Lyons, and brother, Larry "Buddy" Lyons in eternal rest.
Jeanie leaves behind a loving legacy through her daughters, Sherri (Tim Durham) Yates, Leah (Bennie) Churchman, and Holly (Wes) Briney, her granddaughters Kayla (Micky Dowd) Kappel, Kimberly (Caleb McDaniel) Moore, Lillie Churchman, Madalyn Briney, and her great-grandchildren, Marcus, Karlee, and soon-to-arrive Silas, along with a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Visitation to celebrate Jeanie's life will be held from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy. Her funeral service will follow at 12:30 pm, with burial taking place at Louisville Memorial Gardens West in Louisville, Kentucky.
In this time of remembrance, the family kindly requests that contributions in Jeanie's memory be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
