I took care of John for 4 1/2 yrs until I left the company. Even though I wasn't taking care of him anymore he would call me when it snowed to see how much I got. He called me weekly just to say hello and see how I was and he met my dog Korben and he would always ask how his boy was doing.
I miss our conversations and I was always happy when he called because I knew he was thinking of me. He always said he would marry me. Lol.
He is missed.

John Wood Jr. was a kind man that loved and embraced his community. You would often see him traveling on his scooter to his alma mater Plymouth Regional High School to watch a sporting event. He enjoyed watching baseball, football and tennis to name a few. Though he didn't go to PSU, he would frequently travel to the games at the field house to take in a game. When he wasn't up for traveling he was sure to watch these games on the local Plymouth channel.
He was a generous man personally and financially to his community. He enjoyed attending the Plymouth Regional Senior Center in the fairer months of the year. He was actively involved with the Plymouth Historical Society as a resource and donating items he had acquired over the years.
Despite his declining health he persevered to remain to be connected to his friends and community. What John taught us all was that through his life's journey, was to not give up despite the obstacles you might face. He did not allow himself to become a victim of his declining health. He embraced it and pushed ahead never complaining.
For all that knew John they are a better person for having known him. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
