John C Woodard, known as “Jack” to his friends, aged 83, passed away on April 1, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Margie. They shared 65 years of marriage and together had 4 beautiful children.
Jack was born on June 9, 1940, in San Antonio, TX. He attended Sul Ross and Texas Tech Universities where he double majored in Biology and History, He was proud to call himself a teacher and a coach. For 33 years, he taught and coached in Victoria, Corpus Christi, Kingsville, Orange Grove, and Ingleside. He coached baseball, football, track, and powerlifting. He loved teaching Anatomy and Physiology.
In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, raising birds, and keeping bees. But, more than anything, he was a devoted father and husband.
He is survived by his loving wife Margie. During their 65 years of marriage, he fathered 4 children: Joy Munsch (Bubba), John Curtis Woodard, Jr. (Crystal), June Maguire (Bill), and Alan Woodard (Kristin). Together, he and Margie, have 10 grandchildren Sean Despain, Tyler Kunz, Kyle Kunz, Jacob Woodard, Heather O’ Barr, Kelsee Anderson, Courtney Maguire, LeeAlan Woodard, Shaelyn Amerson, and Alana Woodard, and 18 great-grandchildren Chelsea (Sean), Vera and Logan (Kyle), Parker (Tyler), Branson, Bailee, Brody, Bowen, Baylen, Beckett (Heather), Kaylee, John William (Jacob), Sevrin, Levi, Rex, Keighlee (Kelsee), Carter Lee (LeeAlan), and Kehlani (Alana). His memory will be cherished by all who loved him.
