John Wright Obituary

John Wright, Jr., 76, of Reading, passed away on July 31, 2025. He was born November 16, 1948, in Darlington, SC, to his parents, John Wright Sr. and Mary Wright, formerly Mary Mcleod. He was raised in Brooklyn, NY. John proudly and honorably served in the United States Air Force. After his service, he worked as a tax preparer and was fondly known in the community as "the Taxman." He was a simple man who enjoyed life's simple pleasures-watching movies and sports, especially cheering for his favorite team, the New York Mets. He loved good food, cold beer, and most of all, spending time with family at reunions and gatherings. John Jr. is survived by his siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Military Honors will be rendered for Airman Wright on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Rd Annville, PA 17003, where he will be laid to rest. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
