Obituary for John Joseph Wuellner
It is with profound sadness that the family of John Joseph Wuellner announces his passing on March 8, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on June 2, 1942, in Dayton, Kentucky, John lived a full and vibrant life, characterized by his love for family, service to his country, and a wealth of interests that brought joy to those around him.
John proudly served in the United States Navy and carried the honor of that service throughout his life. After his military tenure, he dedicated many years to the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier, building lasting relationships with his community in Villa Hills, Kentucky, where he resided. John also served on the Crescent Spring, KY Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter.
A devoted father, John is survived by his daughter Patricia "Patti" (Bill) Anderson, brothers Harry "Skip" (Vanetta) and Thomas (Debbie) Wuellner, and sister Cindy Wuellner. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren Shannon (Chris) Haskins and Matt Bross, along with his beloved niece Tanya (Ron) Rigsby and great nephew Raymond (Brittany) Embry. John's love for his family was unwavering, and he truly relished attending their events, always there to lend support and encouragement.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Jacklin Wuellner, parents, Harry Wuellner Jr. and Virginia Wuellner, sister Mary Bond, and brother-in-law Jay Bond.
Outside of family life, John had passions that defined him. A lover of casino gambling and scratch-offs, he enjoyed the thrill of chance and the camaraderie of good company. He took great pleasure in cooking, often bringing delicious sharing plates to family gatherings and he was known for his salami roll ups. John was known to enjoy a good beer and bourbon, and his laughter often filled the room as he shared stories about his adventures. Once a month, he would meet his childhood friends for lunch. An avid car enthusiast and coin collector, he found delight in the beauty of things that told a story.
Every Sunday, John remained faithful to his roots, watching Mass and reflecting on his faith, which was a cornerstone of his life. His commitment to his spiritual beliefs served as a guiding light for both him and his family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18th, 2025 from 11:00am-12:00pm at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (Follow the BLUE Line). A funeral service will follow at 12:00pm. Burial will take place at 1:00pm at the Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org.
As we bid farewell to John, we remember a man who embraced life with enthusiasm, love, and an indomitable spirit. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
