John Zimmerman Obituary
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Elizabeth (Fox) Zimmerman. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Ivan and Laurie (Swarthout) Zimmerman of Clyde, N.Y., and John A. and Jeanette (High) Zimmerman of Savannah, N.Y.; three daughters, Esther and Kerry Martin of Seneca Falls, N.Y., Elizabeth A. and Carl Martin of Seneca Falls, N.Y., Eva and Jason High of Wolcott, N.Y.; 31 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jonas and Mary Ella Zimmerman of East Earl, PA, Aaron and Susan Zimmerman of Lewisburg, PA, Ammon and Edna Zimmerman of Ephrata, PA, Marvin and Marian Zimmerman of Penn Yan, N.Y.; sisters, Minnie Fox of Greenwich, OH, Mary and Paul Fox of Martinsburg, PA, Anna and Titus Nolt of Jonia, IA, Esther and Floyd Weaver of Lewisburg, PA, Ruth and Floyd Newswanger of Lititz, PA, Vera and Alvin Oberholtzer of Shiloh, OH, and Alma and Harvey Burkholder of Shiloh, OH. He was predeceased by granddaughter, Kaitlyn A. Zimmerman; sister, Ada Weaver and her husband, Nelson; and brother-in-law, Willis Fox.
John David Zimmerman was a talented mason and carpenter all of his life. For many years he was the owner of Zimmerman Construction. The last 25 years, he was employed by Halco Plumbing and Heating.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 31 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley Fellowship Center, 3114 Aikens Rd., Savannah, N.Y. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 1, at 9:30 a.m. at Pleasant Ridge Mennonite Church, 13755 South Butler Conquest Rd., Savannah, N.Y., with burial in the church cemetery. At the request of the family, please omit floral offerings.
