Johnathan Platz Obituary
John graduated from John Rogers High School and shortly thereafter, in 1965, he joined the United States Army. His military career included service during the Vietnam War. Continuing his commitment to his country, John served in the Army Reserves and retired as a Staff Sergeant in 2006 after a commendable 20 years of service.
In his personal life, John was known for his devout Christian faith. He cherished his retirement years in the sunny climes of Arizona, finding peace and community.
John is survived by his brothers, Calvin Platz (Linda) and Douglas Platz (Cassandra), along with his nieces Lynne Richards, Cary Russell, Tami Spangle, Suzanne Carter, and Laurel Witt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Velma and Donald Platz, and his sister Sharon Love.
A service to honor Johnathan will be held at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake on September 9, 2025, at 11:15 am.
