Johnathan Andrelle Turrentine was born June 18, 1979. He was the son of Terry and Paula Stovall of Kansas City Missouri. Johnathan was the second youngest of five children, with the oldest brother Myron O'Neal Turrentine proceeding him in death. Johnathan accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized as a member of the True Faith Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor L.C. Seals. Johnathan was an active member of the church, attending prayer meetings, Sunday school, and BTU services. He wasn't sent to church; his parents took him to church! Johnathan attended and graduated from Northeast High School in 1997 and immediately joined the United State Army and received an honorable discharge in 1999. At his passing he was employed by Challenge Manufacturing Inc. as a Quality Control Technician for 5 1/2 years. Johnathan was a dedicated worker and highly respected by management and his peers. He was born to a family and village that taught him to love hard and unconditionally and taught that everyone deserves a chance to do good. Johnathan loved his wife (Ranota) dearly, his children, family and friends. He loved God and God loved him, and gifted him with love, compassion, a giving heart and gentle spirit. Johnathan touched many lives emotionally! Funding Easter baskets filled with treats and toys for children, donating hygiene products, clothing, shoes and coats to men shelters and churches. He also gifted to male tenants of the Augustine Cameron Place Community. He loved surprising family and friends with unexpected gifts. He was a secret 'Year around Santa' to those he met, those he only heard about and to those he knew and loved. His love and compassion for people of all ages and race had a positive impact that will be truly missed. There were many endearing times. Johnathan was called home on Wednesday, October 15, with his loving wife and son at his side. Merciful God he wasn't alone! A conversation with his mom Johnathan stated his greatest achievement was accepting Christ as his Lord and Savior and the journey God gave him. His deepest regret, he said, "not being the best I could be, I'm not perfect." And when asked what he wanted the most out of life he "said, He wanted to be the best he could be to everybody I'm supposed to be." He will be missed beyond measure but his life and legacy, love and laughter will continue.
