Johnnie Hutchinson, a larger-than-life personality and devoted Marine, passed away at the age of 80, leaving behind a legacy filled with unforgettable stories and a unique spirit that will be missed by all who knew him. An avid supporter of Alabama football, he could often be found cheering loudly for his team, his spirited enthusiasm infectious to all around him. He was equally content watching Youtube while drinking Jager and talking to anyone who walked down the street. For 40 years, Johnnie was a devoted employee at New Orleans Glass and Southern Walls, where he earned respect and admiration for his hard work and commitment. Johnnie was known for his fiery demeanor, quick to deliver a sharp quip or an exasperated shout. His colorful language and unapologetic honesty kept everyone on their toes, and his playful antics were legendary among friends and family.

Johnnie is survived by his two daughters, Amy and Ashley, who were the light of his life. Their relationship with him was filled with both love and spirited banter, as he often challenged them with his bold personality. While Johnnie had a tendency to be outspoken, it was all part of his charm that made him unforgettable. He is survived by his son in laws Bobby Caillouet and Steve St. Germain. Johnnie is also survived by his grandchildren Evan St. Germain, Reagan St. Germain, Amanda St. Germain, Bailey Bernard, and Brady Caillouet. He loved and is survived by his great grandchild Emily Bernard. He had a great grandchild Laynie Marie Bernard that he was so excited to meet. Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Henry Hutchinson and Allie Belle Hutchinson, his brother Tommy Hutchinson, and his grandson Johnathan Taylor Caillouet.

Johnnie Hutchinson will be remembered not just for his fiery spirit, but for the laughter and love he brought into the lives of those around him.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, where friends and family can share their stories and remember the man who lived life on his own terms. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to a veterans’ organization in his memory.
