John W. "Johnnie" Musgrave, 70, of Carmi passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024. He was born in Carmi on January 1, 1954 the son of Emmett Lowell and Wilma Ruth (Waln) Musgrave. Johnnie graduated in 1972 from Carmi High School. He had worked side by side with his dad (Emmett) at Musgrave Body Shop for many years. He later worked for Dennis Paine Service Company, Eastern Services and Graycor Blasting. Johnnie loved to fish, play pool and enjoyed boating on the Ohio River. He had a love for vehicles and his were always spotless. He never met a stranger and enjoyed visiting and spending time with family and friends. His greatest love was his three grandchildren.
Johnnie is survived by his daughter, Meagan (Tyler) Drone of Carmi; three grandchildren, Nolan, Jonah and Aubree Drone; a brother, Frank (Jill) Musgrave of Carmi; a sister-in-law, Susan Musgrave; two nieces, Kathleen (Joey) Fulkerson and Lauren (Nathan) Whetstone; a nephew, Matthew Musgrave; and special friends, Doy Sweetin, Kenny and Teresa Hargrave and Chance, Emily, Braxton and Baylee Hargrave.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett Lowell Musgrave, Wilma Ruth Coulter and a brother, Billy Musgrave.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Johnnie Musgrave, 70, of Carmi will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, August 30, 2024 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will follow in North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi. Friends may visit on Friday, August 30, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Johnnie's memory to Pets at Risk or the White County Senior Citizens and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
