RUIZ Johnnie R. Ruiz, Sr. went to be with the Lord on January 12, 2010 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on March 30, 1916 in Bermuda, Texas to Camilo Ruiz and Filomena Escamilla Ruiz. Johnnie was a WWII Veteran in the U.S. Army. He worked as a sales representative with El PoPo Tortilla Co. and later retired as an aircraft mechanic at Kelly AFB. He was active with the VFW and Knights of Columbus, as well as many social clubs and organizations around town. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Rebecca Ruiz. Johnnie is survived by his daughter, Patricia Ruiz-Davis & husband, Bruce; son, John R. Ruiz, Jr. & wife, Jeanne; sisters, Minerva Gonzalez & husband, Morris, Olivia Torres; brother, Richard Ruiz & wife, Lydia; grandchildren, John R. Ruiz, III, Anthony M. Ruiz, Benjamin C. Davis; numerous nieces & nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and long-time friend, Cecilia Rodriguez. SERVICES Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 6:00PM until 9:00PM, with a Rosary at 7:00PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Funeral Services will be on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 9:00AM at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with Army Honors.
