Johnnie Ward III In Loving Memory of Jay - Big Jay!! Johnnie Ward III, age 33, of Savannah, Georgia, entered eternal rest on December 29, 2025.

A lifelong resident of Savannah, Johnnie - known to many as Jay and lovingly called Big Jay!! - was a man of presence and strength whose life left a lasting imprint on his family, friends, and neighbors. He proudly never wanted to be labeled as the little brother. Johnnie was deeply family-oriented, and his love for the people around him showed in everything he did. Those closest to him knew his conscience would weigh on him at times - not from weakness, but because he cared so deeply for his family and friends. He carried love, loyalty, and responsibility in his heart, and he always wanted the people he loved to be okay. Big Jay!! was ambitious and driven - always exploring new ideas, thinking about better ways to work, and pushing himself to grow. He was a hard worker and a smart worker, the kind of person who took pride in doing things the right way and finding a way forward no matter what. Even through pain, Johnnie's spirit never stopped fighting. He often declared, "I'm strong. I'm going to get through it!" And as difficult as it will be to live without him, may those words remain a source of comfort and courage for everyone who loved him. "I'm strong. I'm going to get through it!" Johnnie is survived by his devoted parents, Johnnie Ward II (Patricia) and Latonya Boles (Nathaniel); his siblings, Jonathan Ward (Courtney), Markease Ward, and Jatara Ward; his beloved grandparents, Alice Ward (paternal) and Lillian Smashum (maternal); along with a host of extended family members and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
