Johnny Ray Borchardt, age 69, passed away on October 10, 2025, unexpectedly at his home in Blanchard, Oklahoma.
Johnny was born with an identical twin on November 26, 1955, in Dallas, Texas to Walter Lee & Billie Joyce (Wilkerson) Borchardt. He grew up in Seagoville, Texas. He married his high school sweetheart, Gayla West, In 1974. Johnny and Gayla were married for 28 years and in that time, they raised their two children, Johnny Lee & Misty, in the Newcastle/Blanchard area in Oklahoma.
He worked for many years in the grocery business at Griders Foods/Buy4Less. He also worked for his father in-law, Fred Guerra) at 76 Country Convenience store in Newcastle/Blanchard.
Johnny was passionate about fishing & cars. In his younger years he loved to rebuild engines for people and ride dirt bikes. Other things he enjoyed were any little dog he had at the time, taking care of his yard, bowling, and any type of car or motorcycle racing, especially drag racing and Nascar. He also loved pool and was never known to turn down a game.
He was preceded in death by his wife Kristine Borchardt, parents Walter & Billie Borchardt, twin brother Jimmy Lee Borchardt, in-laws Fred & Gaynel Guerra, and Joseph West.
Johnny is survived by his son, Johnny Lee Borchardt of Galveston, TX, daughter Misty (James) Swanson of Blanchard, OK, granddaughters Brianna Swanson & Sierra (Matthew) Evans, grandson Cooper Swanson, greatgrandchildren Hudson & Adilynn, sister Vicky (Gary) Johnson, brother Donald (Diane) Borchardt, many nieces & nephews, mother in-law Sharon West, sister in-law Diana (Jimmy) Hansen, his best friend Robert Allred, and special friends Lad Borden & Ember whom Johnny had given the nickname “Strawberry”.
