Johnny was my next door neighbor, for many years. I watch him and Esperanza for many years, as a child and adult. Johnny and I did many things over the years, slot cars, motorcycles, working on old cars and so many times I shared with Johnny Brooks. Johnny had a giant bull dog "Pug" who was on a chain in his unfenced backyard which could be a short cut to my house. If Pug was sleeping you could slip through. Pug caught me once and Johnny had to save me. I was about 10.
When my mother died, Johnny consoled me at her funeral and last summer I spent sometime in his shop looking at his old Honda Chopper he had for years.
My dearest condolences to Esperanza and family for Johnny was truly a fine man of many years and great love for you all and many others.
