MR. JOHNNY JEROME "JJ" BROWN
As we honor a life gone that will never be forgotten, Mr. Johnny Jerome Brown also known as "JJ", was called home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and life that will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew him. He was given at birth to his parents, Johnny L. Brown, Sr., and Annette V. Stone, and after fifty-three years, he has answered our Fathers' call entering in his eternal rest on December 16th, 2025, surrounded by family.
Johnny was a man whose presence could fill a room with a welcoming heart, joy, and laughter. He was outgoing, joyful, and truly the "life of a celebration." Not everyone has the gift or the ability to speak to people inviting them into his space as family. He never met a stranger, and no one remained a stranger when encountering his presence. A warm smile, a listening ear, an open heart, a soul that offered people a sense of value in any situation.
Johnnys' love will forever journey through the loved ones he's left to cherish him in memory: a very devoted and beloved wife, Mrs. Shayla Nakita Brown; his loving parents, Johnny L. Brown, Sr. and Annette V. Stone; a graceful father-in-law and mother-in-law, Johnny and Sandra Hampton; his "little lights of love," Jazariah Brown, Aijalon Brown, Jaycie Brown, Rahim Brown, Iesha Jones, LaPorsha Ragin, Ameisha Coleman and Justin Garnett; treasured maternal siblings, Taneka (Donald) Holden and Deon Brown; paternal sibling, Precious Memory Jackson; an adored granddaughter, Ca'Liyah Harris; a dear brother-in-law, Jonathan (Tamika) Hampton; caring aunts, Mary Alice White, Linda (Antonia) Myricks and Christine Brown Wiley; one uncle, Johnny West; a number of nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family also survives him.
He was preceded in death by a maternal brother, Johnny L. Brown, Jr., and a paternal brother, Johnny Jerod Powell, a granddaughter, Sage Harris, his maternal grandparents, Eddie Stone and Eloise West; his paternal grandparents, Neal Brown and Mary McTier Brown.
A servant at heart, JJ was always willing to help anyone without hesitation or doubt. His generosity, compassion, and selflessness reflected a spirit rooted in love and faith. He gave freely of himself; never expecting anything in return. He found joy in lifting other people spirit. Above all, JJ was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
Although our hearts are heavy, we the family, find comfort in knowing that he is resting in eternal peace, embraced by God's welcoming home! His laughter, his stories, and his unwavering kindness will forever echo in our heartfelt memories of him.
"Well done, good and faithful servant."
