David H. Brown passed away on February 23, 2026 in Leipsic, Ohio, having recently turned 88. Dave was born February 14, 1938 in Meadville, PA of his late parents F. David and Margaret (Fisher) Brown. He was the older of their two children.

Dave graduated from Meadville High School 1956 and joined the Marines. He later graduated from Thiel College in Greenville, PA in 1961, where he played football and wrestled. He worked as an insurance agent in his early years, and later managed a recreational facility in the greater Washington, D.C. area.

Dave moved from the Washington DC area to Ashland, Ohio in 2012 to be near his family, and he enjoyed several years there. After his brother and sister-in-law moved to Ottawa, Ohio, he moved to nearby Leipsic, Ohio in 2021, to be near family.

Dave enjoyed racquetball, jigsaw puzzles and playing bridge. He was a skilled ballroom dancer and was a competitive roller skater. He was an accomplished bridge player, winning many tournaments. Along with his brother, Tom, Dave enjoyed working on family genealogy. Dave also enjoyed attending Ashland High School and Ashland University sporting events.

Dave was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Sandy Brown. He is survived by his nieces, Kimberly B. (Joe) Schroeder of Ottawa, Ohio and Jennifer L Brown of Newark, Ohio, along with seven grand nieces and nephews, and 3 great grand nieces.

Condolences may be directed to the family through Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home in Ashland, Ohio. A private memorial service will be held at a later time.
