Loree Ronk Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home and Crematory - Ashland on Mar. 6, 2026.
Loree Ann Ronk, 46

Loree Ann Ronk, 46 of Ashland passed from this life on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital following a nine-year battle with cancer.

She was born on December 15, 1979 in Sandusky to Dave and Jan (nee Newman) Hirt.

Loree graduated from Danbury High School, class of 1998. She furthered her education and earned a bachelor's degree in political science and religion from Ashland University in 2002.

She married the love of her life, Brian Timothy Ronk on June 15, 2002. Loree spent most of her life as a full time wife and mother. She loved traveling and was instrumental in planning summer trips for the family across the country.

Loree is considered a domestic engineer, or homemaker, by many. In addition to managing the home, Loree was an accomplished seamstress and crocheter, and sewed her own wedding dress and other items that she would regularly wear.

She home schooled her children up to high school, helping them grow into young adults. Loree taught herself food canning, and watercolor painting. She also supported her daughter in ballet by helping at the Opus Dance Studio, assisting with performances and costuming, including creating a new dress for the Clara character.

She was a devoted member of Heritage Baptist Church.

Loree is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Brian, of Ashland; three children, Josh, Sam, and Lucy Ronk, all of Ashland; parents, Dave and Jan Hirt of Marblehead; two sisters, Karyn (Daud) Alzayer of Malden, MA and Abbey (Jack) Hadlich of Sun Prairie, WI; Brian's parents, Bruce and Sue Ellen Ronk of Ashland, Brian's siblings, Ben (Lizzy) Ronk of Copley and David (Sarah) Ronk of Indianapolis, IN; and her 12 nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the church. Funeral services will be held at Heritage Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. with Reverend Ben Roby presiding. There will be a fellowship meal hosted by Heritage following the funeral service. Loree loved bright colors and was a fan of peacocks, so the family invites you to wear colorful attire inspired by peacocks.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Baptist Church with Ronk Memorial in the memo. The family will be donating a portion to the Ashland Cancer Association and the remaining for education.
