Survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Wilma Perkins Cole, two sons, Scotty (Amber) Cole of Salyersville, Kentucky, Gary (Kris) Cole of Flat Gap, Kentucky, two daughters, Jennifer (Chris Marshall) Perkins of Salyersville, Kentucky, Virginia (Christopher) Stambaugh of Sitka, Kentucky, three brothers, Billy Joe (Norma) Cole of Sitka, Kentucky, Bobby Dean (Lios) Cole of Somerset, Kentucky, Jimmy Dean (Janet) Cole of Jeffersonville, Kentucky, four sisters, Donna (Chester) Honaker of Lowmansville, Kentucky, Brenda (Leo) Hamilton of Elkhorn City, Kentucky, Teresa (Ernest) Thompson of Lowmansville, Kentucky, Lisa Fay (Billy) Ramey of Staffordsville, Kentucky, seventeen grandchildren, Jason Scott Cole, Cody Fultz, Daryle Fultz, Rebecca Cole, Christy Cole, Abbigayle Conley, Daniel Cole, Gregory Ryan McCarty, Tiffany Williams, Joshua Williams, Nathaniel Williams, Gabrial Brown, Charity Perkins, Emily Brooke Cole, Isiah Randall Cole, Isaac Storm Stanbaugh, Cianna Rose Stambaugh, twenty-four great grandchildren, and a special best friend, Charles Jordan.
In addition, to his parents, Johnny Ray is preceded in death one brother, Arthur Cole, Jr., and one sister, Betty Marie Kendrick.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, January 04, 2026 from the Church of God's Grace with Bobby Cole and Herman Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the James Gipson Cemetery at Gun Creek, Salyersville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the church Friday, January 02, 2026 after 7:00 P.M., all day Saturday, January 03, 2026 and any time prior to funeral services.
