When Johnny was in high school in Minot Air Force Base ND as an Air Force brat, he hung out with my brother-in-law Mike and they were the best of friends. Johnny was often around our house and would join my brother-in-law and father often for motorcycle rides. I was crossing the threshold from childhood to teenager and Johnny was different, I always appreciated how he treated me as more than just a kid. Thank you and R.I.P. Johnny.

I lived across the street from Johnny for many, many years. We often did little things for each other and he was always willing to lend a hand when you had a need. It was a sad day for me when he moved away, but we did did communicate some for which I am grateful. You will be missed.

Johnny was a quiet guy until you got to know him. He had a passion for serving, a heart for others, and a genuine kindness toward everyone. I met Johnny through the American Legion and 828Vets. Johnny had devoted his life to the Air Force and the DOD until he retired. Then he just wanted to give all he could to helping others. He helped on many projects for veterans, the elderly and even for widows with Castles for Christ Ministries. He was just a phone call or text away if anyone needed a tool, a helping hand or just a friend. Johnny was the kind of person you wish the whole world was made up of. I love you Johnny and will miss you so very much.

Johnny restored a beautiful truck that won an award at a car show in Minot ND, I think he also took at auto painting/pinstriping class at MHS via the Dakota Cruiser Car Club, he modified his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was a great friend to my father. Thank you Johnny for your friendship. (picture I believe was at his retirement party -via Terry Jevne)

I did not know you as well as some,
but watching drag races was quite fun.
You, my dad, and I rode our bike to the track,
on a pretrial or practice night.
But soon, they discovered the hack.
That night was free and they started charging a fee.
This is something I will never forget.
Like your kindness and helpfulness to me
and my family.
You were the type of person we all should be.
So, to a true friend and patriot we sadly say.
Farewell Johnny C, may you rest in peace.
To your family we send our sympathy.
We were honored to have been in your company.

Johnny was my supervisor for DOD civil service. We worked together on and off the job for 20 years. Couldn´t ask for a better friend and confidant Someone you could always count on. He will surely be missed by many. RIP my Friend
