Johnny Ray Johnson, beloved husband, father, pop, uncle and friend passed away Saturday, December 27, 2025. Johnny was born on October 3, 1954, to the late John Ray Johnson & the late Dorothy Potts Neely.

Johnny enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and taking them on trips around the country. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends.

He enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts of America. He was Scoutmaster of Troop 97 for 15 years. He continued to volunteer with Camp Turkey and GSR Pioneers until the end.

Johnny worked most of his life for Beaird Industries, which later became Maxim Silencers and moved to Stafford, TX. He began his career there in 1972 as a helper. When he retired in 2020, he was VP of Manufacturing.

Johnny was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Johnson, father-in-law Kenneth Jones and grandchildren Holden Rose & Evelyn Netherton.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sandra Johnson, daughter Melissa Netherton (Taylor), grandchildren Hunter Rose, Harlynn Rose, Jackson Johnson, Caroline Johnson & Mills Netherton, mother-in-law Sue Jones, sisters-in-law Sheila Ellinwood (Jeff) & Angela Robinson (Ricky), brother-in law-Randall Jones (Melinda), a host of nieces & nephews, and best friends Randy Holtzclaw & wife Reba & Mike Kime & wife Dianne.

The family will receive visitors Friday January 2, 2026, from 10:30 to start of service at 11:30 at Riverpark Church (old Hamels Park) 3232 E 70th Street Shreveport, LA 71105.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Rose, Jackson Johnson, Taylor Netherton, Logan Ellinwood, Nathaniel Ellinwood, Randy Holtzclaw, & Mike Kime.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one of the following:
