Johnny Don Lee October 23, 1960 - February 22, 2026 Hobbs, New Mexico Johnny Don age 65 was born on October 23, 1960, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to John and Kay Lee. He graduated from Muldrow High School in 1978 and married the love of his life, Melanie Gail Davis of Glenwood, Arkansas, on September 21, 1979. At around the age of 27 Johnny Don accepted the call to preach and traveled across the country evangelizing before becoming pastor at age 34 of the Trinity Free Holiness Church in Hobbs, New Mexico, in October 1994. He faithfully served as pastor for 31 years until the time of his passing. Johnny Don's love for tinkering and his inquisitive mind gave him a remarkable knowledge of how things worked. He used his skills to help friends, assist those in need, and maintain the camp meetings and ministries he supported throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his father: John Allen Lee; And an infant brother: John Allen Lee, Jr. He is survived by his wife: Melanie Lee of the home, and children: Alicia Lee and husband Vincent of Hobbs, NM, Tanya Boutwell and husband Derrick of Hobbs, NM, Todd Lee and wife Christina of Hobbs. NM, Don Lee and wife Melissa of Hobbs, NM, and Amber Lee of Hobbs, NM. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren: Jaelyn and Ben Mize, Brittany and Braden Burnett, Chera and Morgan Burnett, and Caleb Lee, Brantley and Morgan Boutwell, Miranda, Sidney, Cameron, and Emma Boutwell, Jayce, Bethany, and Ella Lee, Ashlyn and Brad Johnson, Monica and Trenten Trumble, Terah, and Trey Lee; along with great-grandchildren: Ariel, Breckon, Tatum, Isla, Xander, Zayn, Charlotte, and Landon. He is also survived by his mother: Kay Lee of Sallisaw Oklahoma, and siblings Darla (Randy) Mckee, Barbara (Dicky) Wilson, Karen (Kenny) Stewart, Sondra Housley, David Lee, Teresa (Greg) Moore, and Dan (Camelia) Lee. Johnny Don will be remembered for his unwavering faith, servant's heart, and lifelong dedication to ministry, family, and community. His wisdom and leadership will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Temple Baptist Church 1113 N Grimes Hobbs, NM followed by a meal at the Trinity Free Holiness Church dining hall located at 2120 W Lanehart Dr, Hobbs NM. All friends and family are invited to the meal following the visitation. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 11:30 am at Temple Baptist Church 1113 N Grimes Hobbs, NM followed by a graveside service at Prairie Haven Cemetery. There will be a meal for all family and friends after the graveside service at around 5 pm at the Trinity Free Holiness Church dining hall located at 2120 W Lanehart Dr, Hobbs NM.
