MSgt Johnny Charles McDaniel, USAF (Ret.) of Dinwiddie, VA went to be with the Lord on May 1, 2025. Johnny was born on September 19, 1937, in Rutherford County, NC to the late Frank McDaniel and Virginia Tate McDaniel.
Johnny proudly served 20 years in the United States Air Force. After retiring from the USAF, he was a dedicated employee at Virginia Linen Service and retired for the final time from the Virginia Department of Corrections. John enjoyed many years bowling with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Angela McDaniel.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Alice Bullock McDaniel; his daughter Karen McDaniel Griscom and husband, Eric; sons Michael John McDaniel and wife, Cheryl, and Sean Charles McDaniel; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; Brother Frank McDaniel and Sister Doris Eaker. The family wishes to thank the staff of Dinwiddie Health and Rehabilitation and Crater Community Hospice. A special thank you to Allyson Allen who assisted with the care of her Papa in his final days and guided her Nana through the medical process.
A Mass of the Resurrection, officiated by Father Ernest Bulinda, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 17111 Rte 1, South Chesterfield, VA 23834. Interment to follow at St. Ann Catholic Cemetery, 3321 Beechwood Avenue, South Chesterfield, VA 23834. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. Flowers are welcome; or a donation to Project Homes would be appreciated.
