Northport Funeral & Cremation Service family extends our warmest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the family of Ms. Phillips, who passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Johnnie LaDell Phillips was born on December 9, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois, to Johnny William King and Ruthie Mae King.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny William King and Ruthie Mae King; her son, Willie DeShon Spencer; and her sisters, Betty Jean Brifford and Christine Brifford.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Tommy Lee Phillips; her daughters, LaShanda Spencer and Ruthie Spencer; her sons, Anthony Spencer and Reginald Phillips; her sister-in-laws, Mary L. Phillips and Shonia Brifford; her brother, Willie B. Brifford; and her grandchildren, K'Anthony Ryan, KeShon Spencer, Ariana Coats, Iyana Spencer, Morgan Evans, DeMarion Manson, Nevaeh Jackson, K'Anthony Ryan II, Kyrese Holmes, Larry J. Foster Jr., Chante Foster and Brandon Johnson.
Ms. Phillips' visitation will take place Friday, December 19, 2025 from 2-5PM at Northport Funeral & Cremation Service 5404 Watermelon Road, Northport, AL 35473. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 1PM at Friendship Baptist Church 3416 8th Street, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401, with Bruce W. Henderson Sr. as the presiding clergy. Burial to follow at Coker Cemetery located on Hwy 82.
