Johnny Snyder Obituary

Columbus Johnny Joe "John" Snyder passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, at age 60, after battling colon cancer and heart failure. Born November 3, 1965, in Athens, Ohio, he served in the U.S. Army on active duty in Germany and in the National Guard, with Gulf War service. He earned advanced degrees in archaeology and nursing and worked for Ohio University, Hocking College, Department of Corrections, and as a Licensed Practical Nurse in elder care, living a life of service. He is survived by his parents, Patricia (Wildman) and John C. Snyder; his daughters, Abigale and Rebecca; and his stepdaughter, Katrisha Rayburn. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rhoda Snyder. Services will be held February 27 at Hughes Funeral Home, with visitation at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., funeral at 1 p.m., and a luncheon to follow the burial. Burial will be in Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield, OH. Johnny Joe "John" Snyder
