JOHNNY THOMPSON
John Michael Ray "Johnny" Thompson, 37, of Interlachen received his wings Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at his residence.
Johnny was born in Phoenix, Arizona and had been a lifelong resident of Putnam County, first living in Palatka and later in Interlachen. He was a 2006 graduate of Palatka High School, where he played basketball. He was employed as an HVAC mechanic in the heating and air conditioning field where he excelled, always learning new things. He was a quick learner and was always expanding his knowledge as he worked.
When he was with his family, he was his happiest. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing with his son. He enjoyed watching the series, Stranger Things, and also watching Pokemon with his daughter. He absolutely loved his one on one time with his grandpa. He enjoyed his goofy downtime with his "bros". Additionally, he enjoyed learning new things and going on family trips. Johnny was a man of God, deep in his faith.
Surviving are his wife of 14 years, Ashley Thompson; a son, Chance Thompson; a daughter, Emma Thompson; mother, Pam Thompson; father, Tom Mullins; paternal grandfather, Michael Phelps (Nancy); maternal grandmother, Judith McClure; a brother, Mathew Cummings; two sisters, Krista Thompson and Julia Dowdy (Dakota); two nephews, Ashton and Malachi; a niece, Elizabeth; and many other family members.
His Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
