Johnny Varela Obituary
Johnny O. Varela, husband of Janice Marie Sindelar Varela, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023, in his Chesnee home with loving family by his side. Johnny was born in Clifton, Arizona, on March 27, 1943, to the late Juan F. and Guadalupe G. Ortega Varela. During his professional years, he was employed by the State of Arizona in the capacity of Geo-Tech. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Along with his wife Janice, he is survived by his son, Ralph J. Varela (Lisette) of Round Rock, Texas, daughters, Denise M White of Scottsdale, Arizona, Lynda R. Mellor (Brett) of Chesnee, SC, 6 sisters, six grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Johnny will be flown home for burial in Safford, Arizona. Vining Funeral Home, 1940 South 20th Avenue, Safford, Arizona, 928-428-4000, will be handling all arrangements.
Local arrangements are entrusted to the care and under the direction of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary, 864-461-7788.
