Johnny Lee White, born on December 7, 1945, in
Madison, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his residence on December 13, 2025, at the age of 80. Surrounded by his loving family, Johnny succumbed to a short battle with cancer.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Johnny spent many years as a self-employed vendor, often showcasing his wares at the Eden flea market and retail auctions. His work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit were admired by many. He was well known as the legend of the auction world.
Johnny proudly served his country in the United States Army, an experience that shaped his life and values. A true lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed fishing and birdwatching, finding peace and joy in nature's embrace. His fondness for animals was well-known among those who knew him. In his leisure time, Johnny could often be found watching old western movies, a cherished pastime that brought him much delight.
A high school graduate of Madison Mayodan Senior High, Johnny was also a valued member of the American Legion, where he forged lasting friendships and contributed to his community.
Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Evelyn White, his beloved sons Lee and Jay White, and his sister Penny Lewellyn, Johnny is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Ann Hendrix. He also leaves behind his brother Randy White and his wife Shirley, his stepchildren Danny Eugene Hall and Tina Ann Owens, his grandchildren Courtney Mercedes Hall and Dale James Owens, and his great-grandchildren Ke'Lani Ann Freeman and Kingston James Freeman. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
In accordance with his wishes, no formal services will be held. Johnny Lee White will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
