Johnny Young

Johnny Lamar Young Sr, age 56 of Hollywood, AL, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, after a long illness.

A graveside service to honor Johnny's life will be held on Saturday, September 28th, at 2:00 PM ET at Bryant Cemetery with Brother Kevin Hicks officiating. Prior to the service, visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM ET at the Bryant Chapel of Moore Funeral Home.

For many years, Johnny worked as a truck driver, sharing countless adventures on the road with his devoted wife, Brenda. Together, they formed a deep bond that was evident to all who knew them. In addition to his driving expertise, Johnny was a talented mechanic, often lending his skills to friends and family, making him a valued member of his community.

Johnny was also known for his fun-loving nature and playful spirit, bringing laughter to those around him. He cherished time spent with his family and was always ready to offer a helping hand to those in need.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Young; his children, Angela (Jeremy) Croft, Johnny Lamar Young Jr., Gina Renea Young, and Jeremy Kirkpatrick; his mother, Merle Presswood; his sisters, Tisha Young and Jackie Young; his foster parent, Susan Hill; uncle, Amos Leon Young; and aunt, Cathy Young. He was also a proud grandfather to Angela Paige Boren, Madison Destiny Case, Dewayne Case, Ben, Bradley, Dillion, Serenity (Jacob), Neveah Gant, and Brinlee Welch.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Albert Young, and his foster parents, Bryant and Charlotte Finlayson.

Johnny Young's spirit and warmth will be dearly missed, but he will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
