Jok Mayom Jr passed away on June 27, 2025. A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, with a funeral service following at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held at the Waukee Cemetery. 

Jok Jr. was born at Broadlawns Medical Center, Des Moines IA. He was born on February 25, 2007. He was born during the snow time and it was very snowy weather. He graduated from Johnston High school May 27, 2025, and he died on June 27, 2025.

He was very honest, respectful and encouraged his brother, sister and all family members. He is survived by his mother, Mary A. Acuoth and Father, Mayom L. Jok Sr; cousin, Abraham Biar Marol with his five kids, Yar, Achol, Akuot, Marol and Liaih, who live in Texas.

Jok Jr. suffered from asthma for six years and was recovering from it. He passed away from a car accident last Friday. An ambulance took him to Unity Point Medical Center in Critical Care Unit, where he died from his injuries. Mayom L. Jok Sr, and his brother Anyaar J. Mayom, were at Critical Care Unit during the treatment.

He lived in Johnston IA, for 13 years. Johnston is quiet, and safe place for the kids and their families to live for long time. “We so sorry to loss you Jok J. Mayom Jr. And God bless your life and guide you their until we met together again” by Mayom L. Jok Sr. We were trying our best to take care of you, but we don’t know that the car accident take your life, it will be taking your life too. That’s our condolence to you and your death Jok J. Mayom Jr. “I am so sorry for your loss.”
