Jolene Collins Obituary
JOLENE VICTORIA COLLINS
April 9, 1949 ˜ February 3, 2024
Jolene Victoria Collins, age 74, of Vancouver, WA, passed peacefully due to complications from dementia, and respiratory failure.
Born in Juno, AK, to Bruce and Eileen Perry, she graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in psychology. This is also where she met her spouse, Avery Collins. Married in 1972, they just missing their 52nd anniversary this year.
Moving to Vancouver, WA, in 1981, Jolene found employment in the Evergreen School District at Legacy High School. Duties ranged from taking care of babies to tutoring students. She worked for ESD for over 30 years before her retirement in 2016.
She belonged to the congregations of both MacArthur Blvd Christian Church (now known as GracePoint Vancouver) and Living Hope Church.
Jolene is survived by spouse, Avery Dean Collins; children, Brian and Carrie; grandchildren (starting youngest), Caleb, Katelynn, Daniel, Hannah Julaine, James, Mikayla and her brother Jesse; brothers, Greg and Jim, and many other cousins, aunts, uncles and loved ones.
She was predeceased by: brother, Bruce Jr. (November 2022); and both of her parents many years ago.
A memorial service will be Saturday, April 6, 2 p.m., at GracePoint Christian Church; 7300 MacArthur Blvd, Vancouver, WA 98664. She will be interred at Evergreen Memorial Gardens at a later, private date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Dementia Society of America.

I knew her from Legacy High School from 2009 to 2013, and I last saw her in public in the year 2017
I just found out about her passing and I am very sad about it

I was one of her students at legacy high school and she was my favorite person to talk to. I would go in her office and cry and she was always there to listen. Once I graduated and had kids I would stop by her house and see how she was doing. She will be loved and missed. I'm sorry I just found out. Been thinking about her a lot and didn't realize this.
