JoLynn Sommerville, of Powell, Wyoming, passed away March 22, 2025 in Billings, Montana. JoLynn was born Aug. 10, 1945 in Lusk, Wyoming, to Elijah E. Phillips and Iris Joan Rayl. Throughout her life she lived in Salsbury, Missouri, and Worland, Greybull and Powell. JoLynn met William "Butch" Sommerville in high school and the two were married in 1963 in Greybull. They were married for 60 years and were blessed with two children, Lisa and Billy. JoLynn received her cosmetology license in 1987 and opened her own salon the next year — it was her pride and joy — called Lasting Impressions. Her salon was the hangout for Billy and all of his friends growing up, and she was still cutting hair at the time of her passing. She had many passions throughout her life, including camping, fishing, shopping and collecting, however her favorite of all was playing 31 with her five grandchildren. JoLynn made a "Lasting Impression" on all who loved her, and she will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Lisa Howard and brother Jerry Phillips. She is survived by son Billy (Ronnie) Sommerville, Evanston, Wyoming; grandchildren Rayce Kaufmann, Spearfish, South Dakota, Calynn (Jessie) Kling, Spearfish, South Dakota, Austen Sommerville of Evanston, Wyoming; Brittney Howard, Belle Fourche, South Dakota and Allison Sommerville, Casper, Wyoming and three great-granchildren, Brechyn, Brightyn and Ashlynn, all of South Dakota . Honorary pallbearers will be Rayce Kaufmann, Calynn Kaufmann, Austen Sommerville, Allison Sommerville and Brittney Howard. A celebration of life will be held in May with burial in Greybull, Wyoming. Memorials may be sent to St. Jude’s's.
