Jon Alan Barclay

Our beloved "Poppi", has gone to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. On May 30th, 2024, Jon Alan Barclay, passed away unexpectedly. He was 81.
He was preceded in death, nine months prior, by his beloved wife of 52 years, Phuong Barclay.
Jon and Phuong met during the Vietnam War, in Saigon, when they both worked at the US Embassy. He arrived in Vietnam in 1966, after enlisting in 1963 with the US Navy. While enlisted, he served on both the USS CONSTELLATION CV-64, as well as, the USS JOHN F. KENNEDY CV-67. He later went on to obtain a Bachelor's Degree from Barry University after completing his military service. He originally graduated from Lakeland High School in May of 1962.
Jon and Phuong returned to his hometown of Lakeland, Florida, after leaving Vietnam. They eventually settled in Jensen Beach, Florida, where they raised their family and planted roots in Martin County.
He will be missed dearly, but we know he is rejoicing to be with both his loving wife and in the presence of the Lord.
It is with great sadness that he is survived by: Kelly Barclay and her children; Linh B. ter Riet and spouse, Menno ter Riet; Jennifer Barclay Dorval and spouse, Samuel Dorval and their daughter, Mia A. Dorval; Justin Daniel Barclay and fiancée, Shayna Youngclaus.
A private service will be held for family, followed by burial at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL on Thursday, June 13th, 2024.
