Jon Dennis Darrow, Sr., 80 of Avon, Indiana, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather; passed away July 06, 2023. He was born January 05, 1943 in South Bend to the late Helen Irene (Coleman) and Philip Spencer Darrow, Sr. Dennis was a 1961 Riley High School graduate and married his high school sweetheart Nancy Halasi on June 01, 1963 in South Bend. He worked in information technology for over 35 years, retiring March 16, 2007 as the Data Systems Administrator for Whiteco Industries, Inc. Dennis was last a member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church and his life revolved around the Methodist church, notably in South Bend, Portage, and Plainfield, IN. His lasting legacy will always be caring for and serving others first.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Nancy Darrow of Avon; son, Jon Dennis Darrow, Jr. (Annette) of Indianapolis, David Michael Darrow (Roxanne LaCroix) of Gilbert, AZ.; brother, Philip "Pete" Darrow (Mary Pamela) of Granger; sister, Phyllis Everts (James) of Venice, Fl.; and one granddaughter, Lucy Darrow of Indianapolis. His parents and sisters, Vicki Bockover and Diane Wilkins, preceded him in death. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 05, 2023, in the Plainfield United Methodist Church with Pastor Charlie Wilfong officiating. Friends and family may call from 1:00 p.m. until the service begins in the church. Contributions may be made to fight cancer with "5 for the Fight" at www.5forthefight.org
