Jon Martin Ericson

Many great memories with Jon, Karin and the kids when we were together at Vandenberg. Loved your energy, positive attitude and friendship. RIP Jon. You will be so missed.

I had the privilege to work for Jon as his Executive Officer during our deployment to Los Angeles International Airport after 9/11 and we became fast friends for the next 25years. He was someone that you wanted to be around and make him proud because his leadership style was completely his own. He definitely made me and the people he graced better airman, leader's and humans. My thoughts and Prayers are with Jon and his family today and well into the future.

You are all in our thoughts and we´re sending love and prayers. Through the years we have known of your family and spent time together at many Plymouth celebrations we have always admired your family. Your dedication and devotion to each other is inspiring. The things I appreciate and will remember most about Jon was his smile and warm, sincere way of making us feel welcomed.

I worked with Jon over the past five years and I will miss his positive, appreciative and can-do approach to getting things done. I will also miss reminiscing with him about our shared experiences as USAFA grads, Support Group Officers and our children following in that service to our country. Truly a shining example and brother in arms!

So sad to hear of Lt. Col. Ericson's passing. An outstanding officer, leader, and mentor. He had a great sense of humor and made me laugh so hard that I couldn't stand up straight. We love and will miss Jon! So very sorry for your loss Karin, Kellen and Alayna. We worked together at Vandenberg AFB. Your Dad was a wonderful friend and our son Adam´s godfather. He was waiting in the hospital while Adam was born, and was first in the room after his birth. We remember his surprise when he saw Adam, naked under the incubator light and said, "I didn´t know babies were born with `everything already perfectly formed!" So sad to hear of Jon's passing. I am thankful to have had the pleasure to know him. In my time with DWR he was always the first to acknowledge everyone's great work and provide steady leadership. Rest in Peace.

I had the honor to work with Jon at the 146 th Medical Squadron. He was an outstanding colleague and BioEnvironmental Engineer. Know Jon is with his Savior and will be with his family in your hearts and memories now as your real angel.

With our limited days in the office, Jon was the person I saw every week. He was always kind and soft spoken. We talked about our retirement plan less than two weeks of losing him unexpectedly. We miss you Jon

I did not know Jon , but I am Karin´s childhood friend. I´m writing to say I want to give my love and support to Karin and let her know that she can reach out to me if she wants to talk. I will pray for Karin and for her loved ones.

Col E always had a huge smile for anyone who stopped by to say hi at drill. He and his team welcomed me to Med Group when on the journey to my last job at the 146th. I was so saddened to hear of his passing. Sending strength and prayers to his wife, children and extended family in Northern CA. It was an honor to serve with you Sir, rest easy.

I knew Jon from high school at Bella Vista. The "Iceman" was always a great friend and we shared laughs and good times together. My prayers and condolences.

I was a fellow member of the aeromedicine team and eventually his medical commander. Jon was my best officer, performing with excellence . When I deployed to Middle east in 2003 in support of Iraqi Freedom, I wanted Jon as my deputy.
I was surprised when he called me last month. We had a long chat and shared memories. He was so proud of his daughter following in his footsteps as an Air Force pilot. I will always remember Jon's love for life.

LT Col E was a great teammate and partner for maintenance and a super cool leader during flooding planning at OES a few years ago. When I saw him it boosted each day! Lovely man and such a warm personality! Too soon.

John was always kind and loving. I was proud to serve with him. He was always my go to person on exercises. So many great stories. He always talked about his family and will truly be missed.
