Jon Eyster Obituary

Jon Frederick Eyster, 61 of Bellefontaine, passed away on Tuesday, May 7,2024, at his residence. 
 
He was born December 2, 1962, in Marion, Ohio.  He was the son of the late Frederick and Kay (Maeshiro) Eyster. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Doug Eyster.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis V. Eyster (Thompson) and three (3) daughters: Keisha Eyster, Kaley Eyster (Eric), Christa Henry (Matthew), three (3) stepchildren: Sara Carnahan (Jesse), Jessica Sutton, Timothy Sutton (Jordan), six (6) grandchildren: Kennley, Ainsley, Novalee, Jon Hawkeye, Rosemary, Asa. (Known as Papa Jon) too: Madison, Adelynn, Liam, Kaitlyn, Sophia, and Ezra; the mother of his children, Penny Eyster, and many close friends and co-workers.

Jon worked for 31 years, for Honda of America Mfg. (MAP) before his retirement in 2017. Jon enjoyed life, spending time with family, puffing cigars with a glass of Bourbon, while outside grilling, and traveling. Jon's easy-going manner was one of his finest attributes.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 2 until 4 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 321 N, Main St., Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. Pastor Jeffory Willetts will officiate a memorial service beginning at 4:00 p.m. following the visitation at the funeral home.
