Centre Hall, Pennsylvania - Jon Brian Hickey, 67, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Center Care, after a long battle with cancer. He was born November 20, 1957, at the John Garfield Memorial Hospital, in Washington DC, the first child of William H. and Beverly J. Hickey.
He was a 1976 graduate of State College High School, where he enjoyed History, Track and Field and Auto Shop. He attended Mansfield University, majoring in History and was a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity.
Jon was Vice-President and co-owner of W. R. Hickey Beer Distributor, Inc. in State College, PA. During his tenure, the company experienced tremendous growth and has become one of this area's leading business's.
Jon loved spending time with his family, on his farm, and at his cabin. He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, canoeing and 4-wheeling. He was a member of the Mount Nittany United Methodist Church, a life member of the Alpha Fire Company, Harris Township Fish and Game and Efesee Lodge in Hammersley Fork, PA.
He is survived by his mother, Beverly Corman Hickey of Boalsburg, brother, Chris Hickey of State College, sister Molly Hickey-Gurskey and her husband, Ron of Linden Hall, niece, Beverly Ishler and her husband, Ed of Linden Hall, nephew, Ronald Hartman and his partner, Alexandria Crowson of Boalsburg, grand niece and grand nephew, Mary Elizabeth Ishler and Paul Ishler. He was preceded in death by his father, William H. Hickey and his brother William K. Hickey.
Friends and family will be received Friday, September 19, 2025, from 5 to 7 at Koch Funeral Home in State College. Funeral service will be held, Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 10 AM at Mount Nittany United Methodist Church, 1500 E. Branch Road, Lemont, with Pastor Michael Swimley officiating. Burial will be at Centre County Memorial Park following the service.

Molly and Chris, I am so sorry to hear about Jon passing.
As you well know, we have all been friends for most of our lives.
Although I didn't see him often, his passing is going to leave a huge hole, not just in my life, but in everybodys that he knew.
He will certainly be missed.
