Jon Dan King, 85, of Judsonia, Ark., departed this life on Feb. 21, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born May 15, 1940, in Norfork, Ark., to the late J.D. and Roe C. King. Dan was raised in Mountain Home, where he attended high school and was baptized in the Methodist faith. His father proudly served as the sheriff of Baxter County.
He later moved to Searcy, where he served in the National Guard and worked as a superintendent overseeing missile bases throughout the surrounding area. In the 1960s, Dan founded White County Ready Mix and King Materials. After years of dedicated leadership and hard work, he sold his businesses in the late 1970s.
During the 1980s, Dan worked for Morrison Knudsen as a general superintendent, with projects that took him to Saudi Arabia, Colombia, South America and Kansas City, Kan. In 1986, he returned to Searcy and established King Refrigerated Trucking. He continued working faithfully until his retirement in 2009, concluding his career driving for A.C. Cartage.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, and his life and legacy will be remembered with honor and gratitude.
He is survived by his wife of 50 loving years, Dorothy King; his son, Gary A. King; stepson, Danny R. Dike; grandson, David A. King; and his sister, Ida King Shinn.
