Mr. McCarthy was not only my high school principal, but my dear friend Kate´s dad. I have so many fun and fond memories of him. He was a wonderful man! His nickname for me was Car-woman, and I´ve never forgotten that! I have so many memories of spending time with them at their cottage, going to Washington D.C. with them, and him making pancakes for all of us. Joanne and Kate, my deepest sympathies. Love to you both!

My deepest and heartfelt sympathy to Joanne and Kate and their loving Family members. I had the privilege of knowing Jon as the HS Principal at our Kids School, Kenowa Hills. He was an awesome source of information to me as I raised my Family. He was patient, kind and ever only wanting to do the right and best thing for Kids in education. I have tremendous respect for him. Thank you Jon for a job well done! My Children are Leaders and respected in their fields of work and service to the community. Jon would have been very proud of how they all turned out! It really takes a village to raise responsible next generation Human Beings. I´m very thankful that Jon was a part of my village.

So sad to hear of Jon´s passing. Thinking of Joanne and family and sending a warm embrace.

Jon was a dear friend who we will never forget. In the 40 years of friendship we shared many meals, boat rides, fishing expeditions, great conversations, and memories of different times we were together. We have a few beautiful wooden pieces that he made for us and we treasure them. We will miss Jon immensely.
