Jon Allen Payne, 64 of Monterey, Tennessee, passed from this life on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.

Jon was born on Thursday, November 23, 1961, in Wichita, Kansas, and he was the son of the late Jon Virgil Payne and Marcia Lynn (Stoops) Norrod.

Jon was a loving son, brother, husband, father, Papa, uncle, and friend. He was dedicated to his 24-year career at the Cookeville Walmart; he loved his associates, cared about their well-being, and was an exemplary manager. Jon loved the Lord and lived with the deepest kind of faith. He attended Life Church for 20 years, and his favorite part of being at church was serving as an usher. Jon was an unacclaimed unicycle rider, was a drummer in his younger days, and an accomplished wood turner. Jon was loved by those who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.

Jon is survived by his wife of 26 years, Niki Payne; 6 Children, BJ Duck, Ashley Helms and her husband, Derrick, Josh Payne, Justin Payne and his wife, Lisa, Jason Payne and his fiance, Kayla Morgan, and Quincye Mesler; 18 Grandchildren; 3 Great-Grandchildren; Mother, Marcia Norrod and her husband, Rick; 2 Sisters, Stacy Gray, and Wendy Hedeen; Step-Mom, Sue Payne; 2 Step-Sisters, Melissa Wilson and Kristin Wilson; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

In addition to his father, Jon was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Tim Gray.

Celebration from here to there for Jon Allen Payne will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 1:00 pm at The Edge at Life Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be made to the Quincye Mesler Savings Account at Wilson Bank and Trust to aid in furthering his education.
