Jon J. Shipman

Jon J. Shipman, 57, of Leavenworth, KS died on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, after a long battle with depression and anxiety.

His life will be remembered with a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Private family burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Troy, KS. Memorial contributions are suggested to Erika's Lighthouse or an academic donation for Sydney Shipman and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Jon was born on June 28, 1968, in Atchison, KS the son of Thomas G. and Lela "Kay" (Fowler) Shipman. He graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1986. He earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS. Jon worked doing computer coding for the Miller-Tanner Corporation. He enjoyed the outdoors, and did handyman repair. He played several instruments and enjoyed music and spending time with his family and special dogs. Those that knew him knew what a gentle kind person he was. He was smart, witty and had a charming personality. He was loved by so many.

He married Sheryl Cluck on June 24, 1989. She survives of the home, additional survivors include a daughter Sydney Shipman, of the home, his mother Lela "Kay" Domann, Lawrence, KS, a brother Mikel Domann, Step-mother Jeanne Shipman, Step brothers and step sisters, David (Libby) Domann, Patricia Domann, Joseph (Sherry) Domann, Sarah (Jeff) Ryan, Grace (Les) Burchett, BJ (Maria) Domann, Shelly Maxwell and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant son Alex Shipman and infant daughter Megan Shipman, his brother Steve Shipman, father Thomas Shipman and stepfather Bernard Domann.
